Foundry39 is the first site of the new Foundry Project concept for the Revere team. The project involved taking a new site which was previously a Chimichanga restaurant and completing a full internal refurbishment with a design that complimented their F&B stay-a-while urban vibe serving pizza's, burgers and cocktails all day.

The powerhouse of the Industrial revolution, The Foundry has shaped Britain as we know it today. With that in mind, we wanted to create a site that epitomises the infectious energy of the Industrial Revolution.

The refurbished ground floor consists of a bar, dining and drinking areas and the main kitchen with a stunning pizza oven that adds to the drama of the site.

Design & Build Details:

The bar has a moody atmosphere influenced by the old Foundry factories with use of charred timbers for the bar front, metal and timber work for the bar storage and a specialist copper bar top. Intricate furnishing details continuing this theme include high tables which were made out of steel beam sections.

The restaurant has a lighter, softer feel with bespoke laser cut tables, aged copper cladding and flamed herringbone flooring. We've tried to create a new spin on the industrial aesthetic incorporating reclaimed found objects that are relevant to the locality and concept. Each Foundry project has its own unique regional accent and within the Edinburgh site we've paid real homage to dominant rail history and the forges. Within the scheme, railway tracks are set into the floor, reclaimed lane switching boards add decorative features and old railway sleepers were used on the bar.
