THE MANOR HOUSE, WHITTINGTON
Built by Sir William de Whittington in 1310, The Manor House is a Grade I-listed building with an historic past enticing visits from even the Royal family of the time. Concorde BGW have rebranded and rejuvenated this historic building, bringing it back to life, providing a warm and inviting place to enjoy a delicious meal with friends and family.
The brief was to complete an extensive refurbishment with a creative interior design concept that encompassed the entire site and, whilst modernising the use of space, also payed particular attention to restoring and retaining the stunning traditional features.

Structural works to the new restaurant allowed for the new pizza oven which was clad in a copper-effect. It also made space for an extension to the bar area in order to create a more usable space. The main dining area is a now a versatile, flexible space with moveable leather booth (perfect for accommodating different sized parties) and a bespoke multi ceiling light fixture. In a striking juxtaposition to the Grade II* Listed adjacent building, we commissioned a unique abstract artwork for walls. Another unique feature to this superb pub is a contemporary double sided wood burning fire which gives views through to the new external decked area from a private dining room.
To the external area, we added a new decked area allowing level access from the bar area and a smoother journey through the building. This had distinctive curved seating booths set around a central gas fire pit that created quite a feature to the garden. Within the externals we also included a new patio and distinctive signage scheme.
